Kaneohe Population
Kaneohe is a town situated in the city of Honolulu and a census designated place. It used to be an agricultural expanse but the agricultural has significantly dropped and today the land is a residential community with a population of almost thirty five thousand and a density of five thousand spread over an area of square mile. According to the Census conducted in year 2000, there were a total of 34,970 people in the district with eight thousand families and 11 thousand households. According to the Census the people of Kaneohe consisted of White, Black, Asians, Pacific Islanders and Native Americans with over sixty percent of them being Whites and Asians.
 
 

In ten thousands households, almost thirty two percent have children under the age of eighteen and over sixty percent were married couples. The average family size in Kaneohe is around three.

Kaneohe is a prosperous community with activities in trade and agriculture. The economy of Kaneohe is relatively better from the other communities in the state of Hawaii. Fishing forms a great portion of income in the people on Kaneohe. The average household income of the people is over sixty thousand dollars annually. According to the census males earned on average nine thousand dollars more than females. The per capita income of Kaneohe was twenty three thousand dollars. The families that were below the poverty line were less than four percent of the total population.

Kaneohe has a number of schools to provide its population with adequate education. Kaneohe has eight public elementary schools namely Ahuimanu, Kahaluu, Benjamin Parker etc and one middle school, King Intermediate.

From 1778 to 1849 the population of Kaneohe was reduced greatly because of an epidemic but after 1900's the population had risen considerably. Kaneohe, once, had the largest population in Oahu. In 1970 Census the population of Kaneohe was recorded at over ninety thousand but since then it has greatly decreased and brought it to the current mark.
